Trek Bicycle Corporation
The Challenge:
Trek Bicycle Corporation wanted to be on the coast (Coast Highway 101) of San Diego in a 10,000 SF creative office space with a lifestyle feel. 10,000 SF on the coast did not exist. Additionally, their current space had to be subleased first. And…it needed to happen fast.
Action Plan:
I started turning over rocks, making calls, talking to brokers to discover anything off market, I sent letters and called owners. Ultimately, another broker had a potential sublease that wound up being the perfect space. I contacted multiple designers and architects to assist with the new space as it had been an old grocery store with beau truss ceilings. This was a challenge because we wanted to highlight the beauty of the original structure and architecture, including the beams and old brick, and yet wanted a creative modern workplace.
The Result:
The client ended up with their ideal space that promoted creativity and a new energy. The work environment and had a lifestyle atmosphere consistent with their brand in a location far superior (in a beach community they had dreamed about) to their previous headquarters. Trek does all of their marketing, R & D and even sales in this facility and the space just works.
