CED Greentech (Corporate Consolidation Study)
The Challenge:
CED Greentech is one of the largest solar distributors in the country. CED occupied 3 separate warehouses in the city of San Diego which created inefficiencies with fulfilling inventory and customers demands. CED needed to expand their showroom/customer pickup, parking, and warehouse footprint in the most central and lowest vacancy submarkets in San Diego county, while staying in close proximity to their customer base and keeping operations under one roof.
Action Plan:
CED’s current headquarter facility was located in a market without any product large enough to support the requirement. We located a facility in a nearby submarket that could accommodate the square footage and confirmed that the trucking commute times would be well within the parameters of the logistics requirements. We did this by personally driving and tracking the local truck routes in heavy traffic times over a period of time to achieve the most accurate study possible for the client.
The Result:
The client now has a facility that houses the previous 3 warehouse sites in San Diego under one roof. Further, the tenacious lease negotiations provided by the Tenant Edge team afforded a substantial redesign the new facility to maximize efficiency with multiple aspects of their operations. CED’s new facility provides distribution, customer pick up, sales, and employee training at a single San Diego location.
